Looking Forward to a Blessed New Year
As we enter the New Year, we have countless reasons to celebrate. It’s a season of fresh opportunities—a chance to reflect on God’s faithfulness in the past and to anticipate His abundant plans for our families, ministries, and personal growth.
This new chapter is not merely a turning of the calendar; it’s an invitation to draw closer to the Lord. He promises that when we seek Him with all our hearts, we will find Him (Jeremiah 29:13). As we commit to pursuing Him wholeheartedly, we can trust His Spirit to guide, shape, and empower us to live as faithful disciples.
This season, I am particularly aware of the importance of carving out intentional “quiet time” in God’s presence. Amid the noise and demands of life—new responsibilities, endless to-do lists, and the constant pull of notifications—finding stillness becomes a necessity. Recently, I installed white noise in my office to help maintain focus amidst distractions. But even more importantly, I am reminded that in an increasingly noisy world, our first invitation is to simply spend time with Jesus.
The disciples in the Gospels understood the profound value of being in His presence, sitting at His feet to listen and learn. Similarly, we must create spaces of quietness and solitude to halt the hurry in our lives. As Dallas Willard describes it, solitude is “a spiritual discipline that involves choosing to be alone and abstaining from human interaction.” In these moments of stillness, we rediscover our grounding in Christ and renew our strength for the journey ahead.
As you enter this new year, may you intentionally seek His presence and fully surrender to His Spirit.
Let us embrace this journey with humility and determination, asking the Holy Spirit to bear fruit in our lives. May we grow in faith, love, and service, always striving to remain faithful to His calling. Together, as families and individuals, let us press forward with confidence, knowing that the Lord will bless and sustain us in every step we take.
A Prayer for the New Year
Lord, we thank You for the gift of a new year, a fresh start to know You more deeply and to serve You more faithfully. Teach us to pause in the stillness and hear Your voice. Holy Spirit, empower us to be fruitful disciples, grounded in Your presence and growing in Your grace. Bless our families, our ministries, and the work of our hands so that all we do brings glory to You. Amen.
May 2025 be a year of deeper connection with the Lord, rich fruitfulness, and unwavering faithfulness as we walk in His plans! Together, we are making Kansas an easy place to experience the presence and forgiveness of Jesus.

GRACE
I am excited to announce that Grace Wheeler has stepped into a vital volunteer role within the Network of Women Ministers during this season.
“In this season, Grace will help us, the AGK Ministry Network, to continue the passion and commitment to connecting credentialed women ministers and those pursuing credentials by fostering community, leadership development, and Biblical leadership across ministries. Grace is an incredible leader. Her heart for empowering women in ministry and her dedication to connecting and uplifting others is remarkable. She embodies grace, wisdom, fun, and a genuine passion. To know her is to love her.” — Amber Sheridan
As a volunteer representative, Grace is partnering with me, as Superintendent, to help women move from recognizing their ministry call to securing placement in higher levels of ministerial leadership. Her work is pivotal in equipping our AGK Network family and local church bodies to empower women for leadership roles while inspiring younger generations to see God’s Spirit poured out on all people.
This volunteer role highlights Grace’s servant heart and commitment to Kingdom advancement. Her efforts exemplify the Network’s vision of creating a supportive, empowering environment for women in ministry across the AGK Ministry Network. Amber and I are incredibly grateful for Grace’s willingness to step into this key position.

Additionally, the ACMR serves as a tool to reveal and measure the vital signs of the local church to help us define what is as we move forward together.
Please complete your ACMR online at https://acmr.ag.org before Friday, January 31st. Questions? Contact Melanie Robison at melanie@agkansas.com.
STL Dream Day
Dream Day is January 22, 2025! The heart behind Dream Day is that youth groups would dedicate a service to dream and pray about what God would have them do for Speed the Light this year.
The website will provide adaptable resources to provide you with everything you need to facilitate your Dream Day service. You will find screen media, youth group goal posters, individual student goal cards, and social media graphics on the page very soon!
We can’t wait to see what God is going to do this year through Kansas students, leaders, and churches as we seek to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a world that desperately needs him.

WIMB
Hello friends! Can I just take a minute to tell you how EXCITED I am for Women in Ministry Breakaway (WIMB) 2025?! We are focusing on 2 Timothy 1:6-7, which speaks to fanning into flame the gifts of power, love, and a sound mind. As our theme passage, these verses are an invitation to say goodbye to fear and timidity and embrace all the life-giving gifts God has for us!
Through engaging speakers, dynamic worship, practical growth sessions, and meaningful discussions, we will explore how to partner with the Holy Spirit to take hold of power, love, and a sound mind in our personal and ministry leadership lives.
My heart for every WIMB is that it is a time for you to break away from the heavy responsibilities of life, be refreshed in your calling, grow in new and old friendships, and find life and ministry encouragement from fellow AGKansas women.
I pray you will join us at Hope Church (Wichita), March 6-8th, 2025, for WIMB '25!
